Academic Advising
Will my past credits from other colleges transfer? What classes do I need to take to complete my degree program? What degree program is right for me? These questions and more can be answered by our Academic Advisors.
To schedule an appointment with one of our Academic Advisors you may call (928) 317-6400 ext. 2 or visit the Faculty Front Office (AC256) located on the second floor of the Academic Complex building on the AWC/NAU-Yuma campus.
Prospective Students: Before an appointment can be scheduled, we must have unofficial copies of all transcripts, as well as CLEP documentation, if applicable. You may bring a copy of your transcripts to the Faculty Front Office or fax them to 928-317-6419. If faxing, please download our fax cover letter and be sure to provide a phone number where we can reach you when scheduling an appointment time.
Current Students & Alumni: Before an appointment can be scheduled, we must have your student file on record. Please call 317-6400 ext. 2 or stop by the Faculty Front Office to confirm we have your file.
Marines & spouses at the Marine Corps Air Station (MCAS) in Yuma: NAU-Yuma has staff on-base offering program information and academic advising. Our office is located in the Education Center (building 850), suite 110. The office is open every Tuesday from 10 a.m.-2 p.m. Stop by or call (928) 317-3067 for more information.
Our office works hard to ensure all appointments are scheduled within 48 hours of receiving the required documents; however, the first and last 3 weeks of each semester are peak times for advising, resulting in a longer waiting period. Please keep this in mind when planning to meet with an academic advisor around these dates.
As a transfer campus, it is highly recommended that prospective students meet with an academic advisor prior to filling out an enrollment application. Our advisors can verify that you have completed all the lower-level coursework required for entry into our programs. If lacking certain classes, our advisors will provide you with options of completing the coursework with our partners Arizona Western College and Imperial Valley College.
