Northern Arizona University in Yuma makes available a wide variety of resources to its students. Some of these include:

Distance Learning/Internet Resources

  • a) “Current Tuition and Fee information for undergraduate and graduate students is available through the NAU Bursar’s

    b) Free On-line tutoring for NAU classes is available during the Fall and Spring semesters.

    c) Student Rights and Responsibilities. The NAU Office of Student Life would like to remind all NAU students about their rights and responsibilities on campus, so visit its website to learn about your right to privacy, the Student Handbook, the Student Code of Conduct, and other information.

    - Textbooks for NAU classes delivered via the web or interactive television must be ordered through the NAU Bookstore in Flagstaff or phone at 1-800-426-7674.

    - NAU Distance Learning provides a search tool for locating your web course.

    - LOUIE, an automated system for students that provides access to a variety of information, including grades, unofficial transcripts, financial aid, and billing information. On-site assistance for logging in to the LOUIE system is available here on the Yuma campus in the Academic Complex Computer Lab. A valid picture ID is required.

    - The NAU WebMail system, providing web-based access to your free NAU email account The NAU Directory Search page can help you find the email address of your instructor or another student.

    - The Academic Computing Help Desk provides assistance with web course related computer problems. They can be reached via the web or by calling (toll free) 1-888-520-7215.

NAU-Yuma Local Resources

  • - The AWC/NAU-Yuma Academic Library serves the campus community of Arizona Western College and Northern Arizona University in Yuma, by collecting materials and providing services that support the curriculum. The library also supports the residents of Yuma and La Paz Counties, and the citizens of the 7th U.S. Congressional District.

    - The library’s resources include computers with Internet access, numerous online databases, media, music, books, electronic books, periodicals, reserve materials, a copy room, study rooms and a friendly staff of professional librarians who can help you with your research needs. Other highlights are the Educational Clearinghouse, a Federal Government Depository, WACOG Caregiver Zone and the Southwest Border Collection.

    - The NAU Cline Library’s services are available to students for research; visit the NAU Cline Library for a full list of NAU databases and click on "Research Resources". NAU students, staff, and faculty can access the databases from off-campus; simply use your NAU DANA or JAN account (user ID and password). For information about JAN or DANA accounts, contact Francisco Valenzuela at the Academic Complex Computer Lab at (928) 317-6139.

    - The Educational Clearinghouse – This collection supports the campus programs for Education, School Counseling and Social Work. The Educational Clearinghouse is located in the Academic Library. The collection consists of PK-12 books and classroom support materials. These include children’s books, manipulatives, kits, media, idea books, big books and curriculum guides. There is also a Caregiver Zone sponsored by WACOG (Western Arizona Council of Governments) collection consisting of materials for check out.

    - The Academic Complex Computer Lab with over 160 internet-connected computers providing a variety of software, including access to the internet and a variety of productivity applications, as well as a dedicated and knowledgeable staff to assist you in your computer projects.

    - Local financial aid counseling and accessibility to many local scholarships available to NAU-Yuma students.

    - A Military Question/Answer page to help our active and reserve military students understand their opportunities at NAU-Yuma.

    - Yuma Student Government Association activities, which can help you get involved and make a difference in Student Government. For more information about the NAU-Yuma YSA group, please call NAU-Yuma YSA Advisor at 317-6400, ext 1.

    - Career and Job Fairs throughout the school year to help our students, as well as the Yuma community pursue new career opportunities. For more information, please call the NAU-Yuma Career Services Program Coordinator at 317-6400, extension 1.

    - NAU-Yuma students can access career services and receive counseling on interviewing techniques, resume writing critiquing, etc. This can be done by phone at 928-523-4772, by e-mail at career.services@nau.edu, or by mail at PO Box 4097, Flagstaff, AZ 86011-4097. Please indicate you are attending on the Yuma campus when you make these contacts. Yuma students are also eligible to participate in NAU’s Flagstaff campus career/job fairs and on-line job searches by registering through the NAU Career Services website at http://www4.nau.edu/career/index.htm

    - Disability Support Services.
    Support services are available to promote individual achievement. Students are required to provide documentation of a disability to DSS at least eight (8) weeks prior to attending NAU so that arrangements can be made to meet individual needs. Efforts are made to ensure that facilities and programs are accessible to all students in accordance with section 504 of the Rehabilitation Act of 1973 prohibiting discrimination on the basis of handicap.     - Child Development Learning Laboratories
    The Child Development Learning Laboratory (CDLL) is open Monday - Thursday from 6:50 am to 10:10 pm The CDLL is available to children, ages 3-12 years, of NAU and AWC students, faculty, and staff. Contact Alma Barrandey at (928) 344-7564 for more information.
