1. Does Northern Arizona University accept my CLEP credits?

Yes, NAU in Yuma does accept CLEP credits. When you are working with your NAU Pre-advisor, please let them know that you have taken CLEP tests in the past. Then they will walk you through the rest!


2. Does NAU accept my ACE Military Credits ?

If you are a veteran, NAU may accept up to 35 units of ACE military credits as transfer credit. The specific credits NAU accepts are those offered by different branches of the U.S. Armed Forces and certified by the American Council on Education. ACE credit is accepted in block form with generic equivalencies at the lower-division level.

3. Will NAU evaluate my military training from my DD295 for graduation credit?

If your military training was completed with an accredited institution, which is determined by the NAU Registrar, then your credits will transfer.


4. What time during the day are classes offered?

Our classes are designed to meet the needs of the non-traditional student, in other words, students who have a job, family, and are typically very busy. Therefore, our classes are scheduled in the late afternoons and evenings, as well as on the weekends. We also have many web-based classes, which give you the freedom to complete the course work at your convenience.


5. If I get transferred to another base, will my NAU credits transfer to another University?

NAU is accredited by North Central Association of Colleges and Schools and because of this accreditation, our programs are highly respected in the academic world. However, each different institution makes the final determination of what classes will transfer into their programs, so be sure to bring along a copy of your NAU transcripts when you register with another University.


6. What are my options for transportation to the AWC/NAU Campus?

A. The Yuma County Area Transit system (YCAT) provides public transportation in a number of areas. Please call 928-783-2235 or visit them on-line at http://www.ycat.org for information on routes and fares.
B. If you are interested in arranging for a carpool with other Military Personnel who are taking NAU classes, please contact your Education Office, who can put you in contact with other NAU students.


7. Do I qualify for Arizona State Residency with Northern Arizona University in Yuma?
